Q: If you could give one piece advice to a female who’s trying to become healthier, what would it be?

A: STAY OFF THE SCALE!!!!! Today, I think society puts so much emphasis on females to be “skinny” and the number on the scale. They think the lower your number, the healthier you are…This is ludicrous! The number is meaningless and the scale causes more harm than good! It becomes an obsession that is mentally draining. I will admit I was once one of these girls, and it took time for me to realize that it was doing nothing for me! I eventually ditched my scale, upped my calorie intake, began lifting more, and tried to find balance in my life. Since then, my strength has more than doubled, I have become more toned, and I have no stress! I’ve gained almost 20 pounds, and the best part, I’m still in the SAME size!!! I learned to base everything off of how I feel, how my clothes fit, my energy levels, and how I perform. I could care less what I weigh! Bottom line is, don’t judge your health based on the number on the scale!! Keep sticking to those healthy habits and don’t obsess over your weight. Trust the process, and you will eventually get the results you ultimately wanted!

Q: Who at Next Level has inspired or motivated you?

A: No question, the people in general. They are always positive and pushing each other to go further whether you finish first or last. They hold each other accountable and celebrate accomplishments together. The program would not be what it is without them! It gives me goosebumps to see peoples’ success stories and how much progress people make, because they had the NLXF family encouraging them to reach their goals. One of the greatest things is realizing that two weeks ago, your body couldn’t do what it just did. Being around this family has motivated and inspired me to go further and always push myself out of my comfort zone in every workout. Your fitness is 100% mental! Your body won’t go where your mind doesn’t push it! I would not be where I am without their support!!

Q: You’ve been with us on-and-off since we started. What keeps you coming back?

A: I have always been active working out and playing sports in high school and college. I always love to challenge myself and set new goals. I did take a break for a little while and changed up my workout routine to see other ways I could push myself. After a few months, I realized I missed the workouts and the NLXF people. I decided to sign back up for another session and incorporate both workout routines into my lifestyle. This is probably one of the best things I have ever done! I love the variety I get between both programs and my results just keep getting better!
